Notre-Dame-de-Monts: family-friendly resort town in the Vendée and authentic village
Notre-Dame-de-Monts is a family-friendly resort town in the Vendée with a wide sand beach that stretches for 4.5 km, dunes and a gorgeous forest of maritime pine.
In high season, 3 markets take place during your week in Notre-Dame-de-Monts, only 200 meters from the campsite: the big Sunday market across from the supermarket, the local market on Tuesday mornings and the food market on Thursday mornings at Place de l’Eglise.
At night, a variety of street entertainment and free concerts are offered in town. As you stroll down Avenue de la Mer, you can try the famous sucettes chaudes, chichis and other treats that will delight kids of all ages. On Tuesday evenings, the street comes alive with the colorful stalls of craftsmen.
In Notre-Dame-de-Monts, there is something for everyone:

Participation libre au profit de l’association Orgue Rouge et Or (ORO). Composés par François Couperin pour le « particulier » de Louis XIV, les Concerts royaux étaient joués « presque tous les dimanches de l’année » en 1714 et 1715, pour divertir un monarque au soir d’un règne interminable.
Le compositeur lui-même « y touchait le clavecin », accompagnant quelques autres illustres musiciens. Ces pièces au raffinement suprême furent très appréciées à l’époque et Couperin en fit éditer les bonnes feuilles. Imaginées à l’origine pour un petit ensemble de musique de chambre, Pierre Gallon et Matthieu Boutineau ont arrangé ces pièces à deux clavecins comme on le faisait à l’époque, en famille ou entre amis.
