We joined the committed to a sustainable destination label in 2018 to protect our rich and fragile natural environment. This label was created by local professionals and is endorsed by the Pays de Saint-Jean-de-Monts Tourist Office.

Our commitments:

At Le Clos du Bourg campsite in Notre-Dame-des-Monts, we promise:

Not to use products that are harmful to the environment

  • manual or mechanical weeding, zero phytochemicals
  • organic or eco-friendly cleaning products

To reduce our energy consumption

  • Exterior lighting with low-consumption and twilight bulbs
  • Latest generation heat pumps for the pools

To optimize our water consumption

  • Timed faucets and pressure reducing valves on showers
  • Water consumption monitored monthly

To encourage environmentally-friendly transportation

  • Electric vehicles within the campsite
  • Partnership with bicycle rental company for our guests
  • Maps of bike paths and walking trails available

To limit our waste production:

  • Yard waste shredded and re-used as mulch
  • Recycling: bins throughout the campsite and bags provided to guests
  • Used battery collection
  • Compost bin available to guests and bio-buckets supplied to volunteer residents
  • The Donation Box gives a second life to used objects in good condition, encouraging sharing and relationships between guests
  • Disposable mattresses recycled by our supplier

To educate and communicate

  • Environmental protection awareness workshops and educational workshops at the children’s club
  • Reminders of how to go green in the restrooms and common areas
  • Information provided on tourist sites related to the environment (Biotopia, Kulmino, etc.)
